1. Acting for a German owned manufacturer in the automotive sector including advising and participating in the consultation process with trade union representatives in a large scale redundancy programme and negotiating over severance terms. Successfully preventing strike action in the High Court. Advising on implementing changes to terms and conditions of employment following the acquisition of the company.
2. Successfully defending a recruitment business against claims of unlawful sex and race discrimination in a multi day tribunal case.
3. Advising corporate clients in relation to high level executive terminations including the negotiation and drafting of severance agreements and regulatory requirements including announcements to the stock exchange.
4. Successfully defending a breach of contract claim by a senior executive on behalf of a property company at tribunal.
5. Successfully acting to enforce post termination restrictive covenant clauses in contracts of employment where former employees had formed a competing business.
6. Successfully representing a travel company in connection with a claim for damages against a former employee who had misused her employer's confidential information and diverted an opportunity for her own benefit in competition with her employer but whose contract contained no restrictive covenant clauses.
7. Successfully representing a manufacturing company in relation to a claim for unlawful sex discrimination, equal pay and constructive dismissal.
8. Representing a client in a claim brought under the TUPE 2006 Regulations. The client provided a service to an international food conglomerate which was abruptly terminated. The claim was brought under the new provision dealing with service provision change under the new regulations and was successfully settled prior to a tribunal hearing.
9. Advising businesses in the manufacturing, service and leisure sectors on the implementation of redundancies and on the procedure for varying terms and conditions of employment.
10. Providing corporate support in the due diligence process in relation to the employment issues arising on the acquisition of businesses.
