If you are considering employing someone from another country they may need a work permit or need to be registered with the Home Office.
Most workers from the EEA are allowed to work in the UK as European Citizens but as you may expect there are several exceptions. Although they are now part of Europe, workers from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia or Slovenia need to be registered with the Home Office and workers from Romania and Bulgaria actually need Work Permits.
Workers from outside the EEA will need Work Permits or special working Visas. If you are thinking of employing foreign nationals please give us a call - remember Section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 has some strict rules and strict penalties.
